PROGRAM

Full Day :

  • Meet your guide at the hotel lobby or at Whisper Journeys office and depart by private or join group vehicle to the village

  • Start your elephant training and experience elephant riding through the spectacular landscape

  • Get on a long tail boat to cross the river to Pak Ou caves and explore the mysterious caves which have over 3000 Buddha statues

  • Enjoy lunch at Elephant camp

  • Visit Ban Xang Hai (Whisky village) and observe their traditional weaving technique and how they make Lao Whisky (Lao Lao). All sorts of snakes, insects and bugs are fermented and mixed with the whiskey

  • Return to Luang Prabang by private or join group vehicle



FULL ITINERARY

This adventure is the ultimate elephant experience that let you learn more about mahout and elephant life before riding elephants through the beautiful forests. We will show you the art of handling the elephant by the Mahout. After training you will get to ride then feed your elephant, and then your guide will take you by a long tail boat to Pak Ou Caves. One of the most respected and holiest sites of Luang Prabang, which has been a place of worship for more than a thousand years. The cave has more than 3000 Buddha statues inside. After lunch enjoy bathing with your elephant before heading to Whisky Village


Note: Pak Ou caves can get crowded on the weekends and national holidays. Do not forget to bring your mosquito spray, sunscreen, swimming suit and to wear proper shoes.

  • Group of 10 persons and above will use separate vehicle in Luang Prabang due to UNESCO restrictions on large coaches entering downtown Luang Prabang.
